The practice has grown from one vet to three vets, with 10 support staff and regular visiting specialists. Briar Dawn staff are all highly qualified, well-trained, open, friendly and helpful. Both Jocelyn and her head nurse, Michaela Riley have been nominated for prestigious national awards – recognition for their consistently good work.

Comfort and well-being, while being a keynote of Briar Dawn, are only part of its service. The efficiency and excellence of the vets and their ‘partner’ specialists means that the Centre offers a standard of in-house care unusual for a small mill-town.

While regular vaccinations and worming tablets are, of course, available (and strongly encouraged), Briar Dawn’s diagnostic facilities mean that owners do not have to wait days/weeks for test results, but can have many results the same day. Animals do not have to be sent elsewhere for blood tests, x-rays or the majority of operations, but can stay at Briar Dawn. Fast diagnosis means more efficient treatment.

"Pets are part of the family,” says Jocelyn, “and we have to cater to the needs of each one differently."
